The terrorist threat was just so sad, rather than tragic this time.
Whoever set him up to make his attempt is such a weak and poor spirited soul that they need to kill totally blameless individuals and families to some how or ever exercise power over others.
Hitler and his cronies used intimidation and brute force to manage a whole population, this is just another version of the same game and will end the same way. But sadly killing and maiming so many on the way.
Join the human race if you can and contribute to building a just and loving society. It is more difficult than blind killing, but definately more worthy of marterdom.

Bhopal 25 years later.
Bhopal 25 years later.
The greatest industrial disaster of all time.... 8000, yes eight thousand died in the four days following the leak of poisen gas from the Union Carbide chemical plant in Bopal India.
It happened in the night of 2/3rd of December 1984 and the survivors, those who lost loved ones and the sick victims still living are struggling.
Have we forgotten them?
Have the lessons been learned?
For the most part the answer is Yes to both of those questions.
But what can we do? How many other industrial factories or storage faclilities exist around the world with the potential to inflict catastrophic disaster on the populations that surrond them.
Wake up your local press and find out. Not to chastise the people that work in these places, but to ensure they are playing it safe when it comes to operating these plants.
Someone got it wrong in Bhopal and thousands have died as a result.
Check out the plant next door and remind them of Bhopal and its victims.

Murder in Italy and USA reaction - Meredith Kercher - Bill Clinton
It was reported on the news this morning that Bill Clinton is being asked to get involved in getting the verdict of the Italian court overturned.
This seems an odd thing for him to do so I hope it is not the case.
Justice in the USA has its own quirks. They execute inocent (wrongly convicted) prisoners. Money buys freedom as in the OJ Simpson case. And now they are upset that a girl who lied and tried to plant blame on a clearly innocent person, is convicted of participating in some agressive sex game which led to a young girls death!!
At least Italy does not have the death penalty so she will survive.

Iran and the Sailors
Iran and the Sailors.
All a bit of a joke really. I thought they were captured as the President of Iran had a large bet on one of the competing boats and wanted to keep theese guys out of the race!!!
Now that Iran has done the "civilized thing" and let them go (reported but not proved) we will have to consider Iran as "civilized". A real problem for the Hawks in politics......
Never mind, progress comes in all shapes and sizes..

Hitler in the news
Hittler - A study in tyranny by Alan Bullock.
I have just finished reading this book, as being born during the second world war I wanted to get a better undestanding of how he really came to power and then stayed there.
Alan has certainly done his homework and everything is referenced back to a speech, writing or quotation from an identified source.

Radovan Karadzic - Evil
Radovan Karadzic was the leader, and proud of it when the evil of the war in Bosnia was so aparant. Prosecutors say Mr Karadzic was the leader of an ethnic cleansing campaign in the Bosnian War, calling him the "undisputed leader" of Serbs responsible for carrying out atrocities during the conflict.
Why does it need so much preparation time before he can mount a defense of the indefensible.
And why will it take months, if not years to conduct the trial. Pick a major event and get it over with, and publish the evidence of the other crimes and allow the public to judge him directly.
Save the time and money and convict him as soon as possible. Do not give him a platform from which to preach his hatred.

Sacking of Government advisor - UK
For sure a Government minsister is free to hire or fire advisors. It is also within a Goverment's power to set Policy that goes beyond that which advisors advise.
But this time the Minister seems a little paranoid and unable to state why precisely he is not following the recomendations of the scientists.
