North Korea and Civilization

North Korea and Civilization.

What is their objective in shelling the rest of the Korean race?

Start World War 3 !
Reduce the population of the Korean peninsular!
For the Leader to show his power to the rest of the world !

How sad that the ego of certain Leaders needs to lead to the death of so many ordinary human beings on this planet. Hitler, Stalin and a good few others were successful.

When the fighting stops, ordinary soldiers shake hands, play soccer together and have no need or desire to kill each other. Have the North Korean Leadership ever thought this through?
Probably not..........

What next......

Taliban men are afraid of Women getting an education

When big strong Taliban Men need to stop women getting educated, there must be something they are afraid of.
Destroying schools seems to be one of their punitive actions.
In the worst case executing women is also an action they feel demonstrates their manly status and control over humans physically weaker than they are.
Why are they afraid of Women? What is there own weakness that they try to cover with these barbaric actions?
How can we help these weak men grow and mature into competent and caring human beings...
Let me know please.

Susan Boyle

What a good voice and song delivery Susan has. We listened to her first CD again and were moved by the clarity of her diction and melody in her voice.

It is such a pleasure to see a normal human being make a breakthrough like Susan has for her life and future.

Join me in wishing her good luck and success and Thank her for the joy we have received from her music.

Obituary from the Times - Thank you

 Thank you to whoever wrote this. I cannot claim any authorship.
 An Obituary printed in the London Times - Interesting and sadly rather true.

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend,Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.
He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:
- Knowing when to come in out of the rain;
- Why the early bird gets the worm;
- Life isn't always fair;
- and maybe it was my fault.
Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).
His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place.
Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate;
teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch;
and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.
Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.
It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or a paracetamol to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.
Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.
Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.
Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.
Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by his wife, Discretion, by his daughter, Responsibility, and by his son, Reason.
He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers;
I Know My Rights
I Want It Now
Someone Else Is To Blame
I'm A Victim
Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

The debate. Advice for Brown, Cleg and Cameron

Gorden is the only one who has been doing anything other than just talk for the past thirteen years, so that makes him an easy target.

Gorden, how do you deal with government waste when it is the vast army of civil servants that actually run the place day to day? Tell us about the practical issues you deal with every day and the areas where you are proud of the changes that a Labour government has made. It may help to compare that with the actual attitudes and behaviour of typical tories.

David, the cheap example of waste by a police chief some where in the county is old school party politics and there will all ways be an example to be found, even in a Tory government. Tell us more than "motherhood and apple pie" and why families are good. You need to be specific about how you are going to improve society.

Nick, You have some good specific plans and should stick to them. don't all ways ignore what Gorden has just said when you are critical mode as you did a few times in the debate. Trying to be too distant from both of the others leaves you no where, particularly as Labour has done a lot that your party approves of. Stick to attacking the Conservatives.

Good luck to all in the next debate.

Banks and Savings - Ratio

Banks and Savings - Ratio

Dear PM etc.

Savers are not encouraged at all by the banks or government.

Link a basic savings rate to something like the mortgage rate less 1.25% perhaps....

Today it is very difficult to get better than 2% and only then if you have a lot of savings.

Help please.

Banking Profits - Taxes

Banking Profits - Taxes.

Keep it simple.

If banks pay performance related bonuses for top performers and executives. Good. However, make it a "non deductable expense" as far as corporation tax is concerned.

Don't just add additional taxes onto banks as the customers pay the costs in the end.

Masters Golf - Tiger Woods - Nobbled

Masters Golf - Tiger Woods.

Watching the coverage on BBC the last two nights, I was interested to see how Tiger was getting on. But none of his shots were shown while I was watching.

Finally the leader board was shown and lo and behold he was third!!

Have the tournament sponsors nobbled the TV company to avoid Tiger?

He is still a key player to watch.

Michael Foot - Socialist

Another great human being has passed on. I  did not know him and am no real student of politics and politicians, but I take an interest in what they do and say.

There is no doubt he was a deeply caring man. He cared for his fellows and the politics that shaped the world and country in which we live.

A man to be trusted and believed as I saw him.
A man of conviction and honesty.
A politician who was there because he cared and was willing to stand up for what he believed was right and proper.
A man who paid a price for his beliefs and worked tirelessly for his cause and that of his party.

The ultimate selfless politician. May his beliefs not be forgotten.........
