 Interesting.

Given the events that MANCHIN had been involved in with President BIDEN and other members of Congress, as I have seen reported on NBC US news, it seems that there is a clear motive for Senator MANCHIN's decision.

He wants to portray himself as the Democratic party HARD MAN. The only one capable of attacking the Republican Party in the Next Presidential Race, 2024; 

He expects to be the next Democratic Party Nominee. 

Good Luck to him. It is a shallow attempt using the scuppering of a major Legislation Bill for personal gain.

The Nuclear deterrent and why I would never press the button,

 When a country (holder of the nuclear key/button/code) decides to launch a nuclear weapon(s) toward a city or country the consequences of a successful attack are totally predictable. The economy will be eliminated together with the population required to maintain it.

What was the point. There cannot be a winner!

So if I were holding the power to  strike back with my own nuclear weapons what would be the benefit of doing so?

Stroke my ego too!

Kill hundreds or thousands of innocent blameless humans for no gain.

Contribute to nuclear Armageddon, so effectively ending civilised society as we know it.

So I would not contribute to this stupidity and renounce nuclear weapons of mass destruction.

And stop wasting the money being spent on maintaining them.
