Is Assad a puppet after all?


When his father died, a real hard man by any standard, the son was drafted in from his job as an airline pilot to be the figurehead of reason.


The tough old guard knew what they needed in order to keep their own power intact. So where are the true puppet masters who pull the strings and fund the terror killing machines. Names please!


The focus on Assad by the politicians and press is much too narrow and does not really present a full picture of what is driving the war in Syria.


And likewise for the rebels. Who are the masters of their game and where is the funding coming from to keep them in arms, food and cash!

China and Power

China and Power.

Seems like the folks in power find it difficult to have others have their say or simply report on what is happening in China.

The payment for oil from Iran in Yuan is certainly a confirmation of the Chinese way of doing what it sees is in China's interest ahead of all else. And why not!

And what changes will result from any movement at the top of the power structure in the country.  Keeping China stable is probably the over riding goal, so no external view or pressure will drive then off course.


They have their own sense of values and will not bend to those of the US or any other Country. They know that North Korea is no real threat as it could simply be over run if a threat materialized. And its current posturing simply sucks up political energy from the West.. to no real benifit.

Just back from another visit to the Chateau we like in the Loire Valley. Set in an historic site with great views.

This is our favorite from the dozens we have visited and the hundreds that we have looked at on the Web. Perhaps we will see if we can move there!!!
